Nicholas Joseph Laino of Airmont, NY passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015, he was 87. Born on October 23, 1927 in Bronx, NY to Vincent and Mary Laino. He later valiantly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and married his lifelong love Frances L. Laino, who very recently predeceased him. Nicholas had an extensive career working for the City of New York and as a general contractor in commercial construction owning Aeolus, Inc. and Quadrant Enterprises in New York. He began working at 13. At 75, Nicholas returned to his roots working again for the City of New York as a Site Safety Manager for NYC Skyscrapers. He continued his work in the private sector and retired at 81.
He is survived by his loving children Marianne (Tom) Muise, Francine Laino, Carol (Bill) Sipperly and Vincent (Kathi) Laino, cherished grandchildren TJ and Michael Muise, Allison Garner, Nicolette, Emma and Willy Sipperly, Danielle, Nicholas and Michael Laino and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Nicholas is also predeceased by his beloved brother Joseph Laino.
Visitation Thursday from 5-9pm at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home 177 Route 59 in Suffern. Funeral Service Friday 11am at the Funeral Home followed by an Interment at FW Loescher Veterans Cemetery in New Hempstead, NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to United Hospice of Rockland at www.hospiceofrockland.org.
