Michael John Yorke

Beloved husband of his H.S. sweetheart, Jean Marie (née Burakowski). Michael was born in Suffern, NY on December 13, 1954. He graduated from Don Bosco H.S. in Ramsey, NJ and eventually went on to run his own distinguished General Contracting business in the Rockland County area.

Michael was devoted to his community and made an enduring impression on many neighbors, through both his profession and volunteer work. He was a member of the Sloatsburg Fire Department for nearly 50 years, where he previously served as Chief and held the current title of Vice President. He was also a member of the Mahwah, NJ Elks Lodge.

Some of Michael’s most enjoyable moments were spent entertaining friends & family at his lakehouse, gardening, talking shop, and watching his grandsons play hockey.

Michael is survived, and will be sorely missed, by his loving wife, Jean; his boys Michael (wife Rachel, sons Colin, Declan & Nolan), Patrick (wife Amanda, son Rhylan and soon-to-be grandchild #5), and Andrew (fiancé Ashley). He is also survived by his dear sister, Maribeth Harmon (husband Ron) and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough, Suffern N.Y. (Thursday Apr. 28, 4-8 p.m.). Funeral services will be at Sacred Heart Church, Suffern N.Y. (Friday Apr. 29, 10:30 a.m.).
