Michael Rooney

Michael was born on June 29, 1960 to the late James & Kathleen Rooney. He is survived by the three loves of his life, his devoted and loving wife of 37 years Julie, his son Brian & daughter Laura who made him the proudest father known.

In addition, he is survived by his brother-in-law & best friend Harrison Jones (Lori), his mother-in-law Dorothy Jones, sister-in-law Pat Reynolds (Butch), several aunts, uncles, nieces & nephews as well as three brothers & 1 sister. Brothers Johnny & Jimmy predeceased Michael in death.

Michael graduated North Rockland High School and worked for the state of New York as a Tractor-Trailer Driver. He enjoyed spending his time at home with his family, going on cruises, NASCAR, being outdoors and enjoying the simple things in life. Michael made many accomplishments in life but none greater than that of being a loving, hardworking, devoted husband and father.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020 from 2-4p & 7-9p at the WANAMAKER & CARLOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 177 Rt. 59, Suffern, NY. (We respectfully ask that you please adhere to all NYS DOH Social Distancing Guidelines.) Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, August 4th also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Repose Cemetery in Haverstraw, NY.
