Mary Pat Dempsey passed away on February 25, 2020 at the Northern Manor Nursing Facility in Nanuet, NY. She was born and raised in Suffern, NY to Roger and Bertha (Levy) Dempsey on April 5, 1929.
Mary Pat resided in New York City for most of her adult life. She attended Miami University in Oxford, OH and received her Bachelor’s degree at Hunter College in New York City. She was employed by Hearst Publications for several years and ultimately became a freelance writer.
Mary Pat is survived by her sister Marita Deraney of Midland Park, NJ and leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Geraldine Basso, brother Jack Dempsey, and her sister-in-law Nora Dempsey.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Mary Pat at a later date.
