Lorraine Theresa Balbi, a resident of Suffern, NY, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2024. She was 80 years old. Lorraine was born on September 11, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Thomas Kenney and Stazia Kosiorowski. Prior to her retirement, she worked for many years as an Executive Administrative Assistant with Johnson and Higgins in Manhattan.
Lorraine has been described in life and death, as “one-in-a-million.” She lived life on her own terms, worked hard and played hard. While she loved the Yankees, Giants, a glass (just one?) of red wine, a Marlboro, Scooby Doo, Alfred Hitchcock, and Atlantic City, nothing will ever compare to the love she had for her family. Nicknamed “Rainny,” yet she brought so much sunshine to those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her daughter Laura, Lorraine is survived by her heartbroken grandchildren Henry, Christopher, Samantha, new daughter-in-law Liz, her younger sisters Barbara and Iris and many nieces and nephews around the world.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Vincent “Sonny,” her older brother Tom, and her adored son-in-law, Benjamin.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4th from 4-8pm at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901.
