Leila Rose Sykes

Leila Rose Sykes of Spring Valley, NY passed away on October 24, 2018, she was 76. Born to James Peoples and Ruby Arnold in Birmingham, Alabama on October 10, 1942. She married the love of her life Percy Sykes on July 6, 1968. Leila later started her family and career as a Technician for Lederle Labs in Pearl River, NY.

She is survived by her devoted husband; Percy Sykes, loving children; Doretha Waring, Desiree Waring, and David Waring, beloved grandchildren; Agyei Waring, Destinee Harrison, Desheha Waring, Deja Harris, Davonna Waring and Shaunree McLeah, cherished great-grandchildren; Anya Waring and Asher Waring and adored nieces and nephews; Guy Michell, Dennis Michell, Elaine Michell and Sabrina Michell. Leila is predeceased by her parents; James Peoples and Rudy Arnold and her sibling; Barbara Arnold.

Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901 on November 1, 2018 from 10:30am to 12:30pm. A funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Mary Gibson immediately after. The interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack, NY.
