Kenneth is survived by his partner for life, Lydia Glass and her son Russell. His children Micheal Carr and wife Louise, and Sarah Vacchiano and husband Nello. He was "Pop" to Matthew, Abigail and Antonio. Not to be forgotten is his beloved dog Riley.
Kenneth is predeceased by his wife, Dee and daughter Wendy.
Kenneth was an avid sportsman who loved fishing off his boat in the adirondacks, hunting in the woods for birds and deer, and practicing his skills as a bird dog field trial trainer. He was also a certified Fish and Game guide in New Hampshire.
He acquired many skills in his lifetime, but he was most accomplished as a professional painter and consummate craftsman. He could build anything you asked him to, from a birdhouse or garden bench to a full two story complete house. He was a master at construction.
Ken held many jobs along the way, but was mainly the owner of his own painting and contracting company for 50 years. Aside from that, he held a position for a time, as building inspector for the Village of Suffern, and was the construction supervisor for the building of the Volunteer Hose Co. #1, as well as the Spring Valley Fire Dept. Satellite building.
He had many accomplishments outside of work also. He volunteered his time to many clubs and organizations across the county. Ken was a member of the Suffern Masonic Lodge. He served as the Deputy District Governor of Lions Club international, as well as a past president of the Monsey Lions Club. He was a proud life member of The Volunteer Hose Co. #1 in Suffern. He served as a past president of the Suffern Fire Dept. As well as the R.C.V.F.A
No matter what jobs or positions he held throughout his life, Kenneth was most importantly a loving, caring family man who loved his friends and family with everything in his heart. He was always willing to help anyone that needed it even if he just met you. He did his best to be a positive roll model and influence for his children and many others. He was a great man and will be greatly missed. RIP Dad.
