Kathleen M. Barry Loftus

Kathleen was raised in Sloatsburg, New York. She attended Suffern High School and SUNY Geneseo. She worked for many years as an advertising executive in New York City.

Kathleen married Dr. James B. Loftus on November 27, 1993. In addition to being an active member of the PTA in the local schools on Long Beach Island, Kathleen enjoyed volunteering her time fundraising for various events for her community. She gave generously and selflessly to all. Her greatest joy in life was to bring happiness to others.

Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband James and her children Kathryn, James and John. She is also survived by her parents Denis and Kathleen Barry, her siblings Siobhan and Robert Dineen, Denis, Maura and John. Kathleen also leaves behind her sisters and brothers-in-law Tom and Anne Fehring, Kathy and Keith Martin, Bob and Kate Loftus, and Bill and Brigid Loftus. Kathleen was blessed to be loved by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, March 22, from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59 Suffern, New York.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10am on Saturday, March 23, at St. Joan of Arc Church, Sloatsburg, New York. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet, New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Kathleen's name to Waves for Water Hurricane Sandy Relief Initiative.
