John Noel Jones

John Noel Jones, of Suffern, New York passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with cancer with his wife Jane, and best friends Barbara and Richie O'Neill at his side.

John was born July 28,1953 to the late Teresa and John Jones Sr. He grew up in the Bronx and later moved to Suffern, NY. John was proud of his Irish heritage and was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Pearl River NY.

John or “Doc” as his friends knew him was a great storyteller and always had a smile on his face. He loved to play golf and travel. He used to run yearly golf outings where friends and co-workers would get together for a day of golf and fun. Most of all he enjoyed being with family and friends. This was when he would tell his stories about the days in the Bronx. He had a great memory about the “olden days” and never hesitated to talk about them.

John is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Jane and his cousins JoAnne Hamershock and Maureen Jones and his uncle, Tony Jones. John was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. John was a devoted husband to his wife Jane and was the love of her life.

A celebration of John’s life will take place at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home on Wednesday December 7 from 4 – 8pm. A prayer service will be held on Thursday December 8 at 10:00 am followed by a Christian burial at Ascension cemetery.
