Elizabeth Betsy J. Sullivan Connor

Elizabeth (Betsy) Connor of Suffern, NY passed away on April 19, 2010 at the age of 79. Born in New Brunswick, NJ on June 4, 1930, she was the daughter of Kathleen and Martin Sullivan. She is pre-deceased by her husband Richard P. Connor and her son Brian Richard. She is survived by her sister Doris Sullivan of Meriden, CT, her daughters Maureen MacAdam and husband Steve of Sparkill NY, Kathleen Wentworth and husband John of South Windsor, CT, Megan Buermeyer and husband George of Montgomery, NY; and her sons Garry and Michael both of Suffern, NY. She is also survived by her seven beautiful grandchildren Melissa (and Stuart) Beswick, Steve MacAdam, Jr, Katie, Laura and Kelly Wentworth, Alison and Kristen Buermeyer, and one great grandson Carter Beswick.

Betsy graduated from Syracuse University, where she met her husband, Richard. They moved to Suffern in1953 where he became an elementary school principal and they raised their family. Betsy spent several years as a substitute teacher, after which she worked for many years and retired from the Salvation Army in Suffern. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church and the Suffern Women's Club, and cherished her Friday night pizza group.
