Donald J. Broome

Broome, Donald J. of Middletown, NY. Died January 7, 2012 at age 81. Born August 10, 1930 in Hawthorne, NY to Edward and Alice (Murphy) Broome. Donald served honorably with the US Air Force during the Korean War. He Graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors Degree. After serving as a NYS Trooper, he retired from American Cyanamid as a Purchasing Agent. In addition he was a Semi-Pro Baseball Player and a former Town of Ramapo Police Commissioner. He volunteered at Arden Hill Hospital, was an avid sportsman and loved the Jets and the Giants. Survived by his beloved wife Barbara (nee Heddy), loving children Mark Broome (wife Tara) and Susan Rost (husband Tom), cherished grandchildren Patrick (wife Lynsey), Caitie, Laura and Kailey. Predeceased by his brother Edward. Visitation Tuesday, 2-4 & 7-9pm at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home 177 Route 59 in Suffern. Funeral Mass Wednesday, 11am at St. Joan of Arc Church. Committal Private.
