Diane was born on April 18, 1943 to the late Russell and Anne (Borak) Sillery in Jersey City, NJ. Her family moved to Pearl River, NY where she was a member of the first graduating class of St. Margaret of Antioch School. Diane then attended Our Lady of Victory in Dobbs Ferry and the College of New Rochelle graduating at the top of her class with a B.A. in English. Diane married Patrick M. Campbell in 1965. They were married for 42 years at the time of his passing in 2008. While Pat served in the United States Army, they had their two sons and lived in Oklahoma and Kentucky. In 1969, Pat and Diane returned to Rockland County where she gave birth to their two daughters and ultimately raised their family.
Diane enjoyed gardening, boating, reading, the ballet and Jeopardy!. She was a talented craftsperson who spent years building doll houses with her husband and sewing and knitting for her family. Most of all she enjoyed living her impossible dream and spending time on her beloved River with her husband, children, grandchildren and friends.
Diane is survived by her beloved children, Patrick R. Campbell and his wife Ursula, Christopher M. Campbell and his partner Danielle, Jennifer Campbell, Katherine Campbell Walsh and her husband Allan, and daughter-in-law Lindsay Campbell; loving brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Lenore Sillery, her sister Barbara Sillery and cherished grandchildren, Aidan, Cameron, Mackenzie, Kendall and Michael as well as her nieces and nephews.
She fought through several ailments over the last two years with amazing strength. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 5-8 pm at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Rt. 59, Suffern, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 9th at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Nyack, NY. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet, NY.
