RIP Danny. I was a saxophone student of his in SF in the early '70s. Very transformative experience for this young player. Very giving teacher and a real model for me to become a professional musician. (Which I became) A major influence and life force!

To the Patiris Family,
 I was one of the drummers in the Legends of Drumming tribute show back on April.2nd, 1995 in Long Island New York at Five Towns College. Jim was in the saxophone section of the Jim Mac Clean big band and was very nice to talk with!

I send my sincerest condolences to all.  Danny was the finest musician I ever knew.  He performed on my first CD at the Ed Sullivan Theatre (Daichi Kosho Studios) back in 1998, and stayed with me in The Robert Lawrence Orchestra, for the entire run. He was my right arm man and a very good friend. He was a fine gentleman who always helped everyone with a smile on his face. I will miss him so much. This will be a sad holiday for me.
