Barry Gerard Van Sise, a longtime resident of Spring Valley, passed away on October 8, 2022. He was 63. Barry was born on December 12, 1958 in Summerville, NJ to Elwood and Lucille Van Sise. He worked for many years as a superintendent for housing. Barry was a beloved husband and father. Barry grew up in Blauvelt, NY and graduated from Tappan Zee High School. Barry had a great love for sports. He was a huge fan of the New York Yankees, New York Knicks, New York Rangers, and New York Giants. His love of sports extended beyond just being a fan, as he played many years of flag football and softball with his brothers, before becoming a baseball coach for his son. Barry was a man of many talents, most notably his ability to fix and repair almost anything. With his free time, Barry enjoyed playing basketball, horseshoes, darts, and video games, particularly Gran Turismo and Call of Duty. Barry was a very easy-going, selfless man who saw only the good in others. He will be greatly missed by all of the lives that he touched, and he will always be remembered with a smile.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa A. Van Sise of 32 years, his beloved son Michael Barry Van Sise, and his precious dog Jessie. He also leaves behind his brothers; Elwood and Cheryl Van Sise and their daughters, Craig Van Sise and his daughters, Scott and Dawn Van Sise and their son, Mark and Helen Van Sise and their children, and George Van Sise.
He is predeceased by his father, Elwood, and his mother, Lucille.
A memorial service honoring Barry’s life is scheduled for Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 1-3pm at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901.
