Alfred was born on June 4, 1958 to the late Arnold and Irene (Norton) Smith in Ridgewood, NJ. He was the owner of A&D Custom Cabinets for many years. Alfred enjoyed woodworking projects and took pride in everything he built. He also liked hunting, fishing and regularly attending stock car races in Middletown, NY with his brother Tim.
Alfred is survived by his loving sister and brother, Sharlene Scherer and her husband Steve and Timothy Smith and his wife Audrey; cherished nephews and niece, Stephen Scherer and his wife Daphenie, Alyssa Stoller and her husband Dan, Rudy Stoller and Matthew Scherer.
A private gathering for the immediate family will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Rt. 59, Suffern, NY with a Graveside Service to follow at 11:30 am at the Mahwah Cemetery on Island Rd. in Mahwah, NJ where family and friends are welcome to attend.
