Susan S. Sebastiano, 76, of Framingham, died Saturday, May 27, 2017, after an extended illness. Born February 7, 1941 in Corry, PA, she was the daughter of the late Munroe L. Satterlee and Cathryn E. Satterlee (Ward). Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Guy F. Sebastiano, a sister, Norma Billsborough, and brothers Ward and Don Satterlee. Mrs. Sebastiano is survived by a loving daughter, Valerie Joseph, and her husband Elliot, of Marlborough, MA, and a devoted son, Kevin Kenniston and his wife Lise, of Northbridge, MA. She also leaves behind three adoring grandchildren and their families: Brian Spinks of Nashua, NH, Samantha Nickens , her husband Bobby ,and their children Caroline and Stephen of Prairieville, Louisiana, and Richard J. Hilditch III, his wife Jamie, and their children Isabelle, Richard, and Gabrielle of Millville, MA. Two brothers, Paul and Phil Satterlee, both of Surfside Beach, SC, as well as her sister Cecil Anderson of Corry, PA, also survive. Along with surviving family, she will be sorely missed by her loving cat, Shadow.
Susan spent her early years in Corry, PA. After getting married, she lived a few years in New York City. While there, she attended the Salvation Army Officer Training School in Bronx, NY. After moving to Massachusetts, she developed an addiction problem, but overcame this and went on to counsel and help a lot of addiction sufferers as a longtime active member of AA. She also worked for many years at the Salvation Army Thrift Store as well as the SMOC Drop-in Center in Framingham, MA.
Mrs. Sebastiano was not only a strong woman, she had a great sense of humor and was a history buff. She enjoyed crocheting in her spare time and was an avid reader. Along with caring for her friends and family, she loved animals, particularly cats, of which she always kept two, until her later years.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at 11:30 am, at The Duckett-J.S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Rd, Sudbury, MA, 01776, with a visiting hour prior at 10:30 am. Burial will be private at a later date.
