Mary Agnes (McCarthy) Murray, 92, of Lincoln, MA (formerly of Sarasota, FL and Menands, NY) entered eternal life peacefully July 25, 2023. Born in Portland, ME on December 27, 1930 to Jeremiah and Mary (Nalbach) McCarthy.
Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Walter K. Murray who passed in 2016. Mary is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Jaeger and her husband George of Sudbury, MA, her grandchildren Caitlin and her husband Brian Arnold and David and his wife Kathleen Jaeger and her three great-grandchildren Casey, Robert and Daniel Arnold. Mary is also survived by her brother John McCarthy of Manchester, NH, her cousins Robert Ekowicki and Edith August, along with her nieces and nephews.
Mary is also predeceased by her sisters, Connie Johnson, Eleanor Pirozzi and her brothers Joseph McCarthy and Jeremiah McCarthy.
Mary always created a warm and loving family home when Walter’s career with Sears Roebuck relocated the family to Concord, NH, Presque Isle, ME, Longmeadow, MA, Menands, NY before retiring in 1987 to Punta Gorda, FL and then onto Sarasota, FL. In 2015, Mary and Walter moved to The Commons in Lincoln, MA to be closer to their daughter and her family.
Early on in their marriage, while living in Presque Isle, Mary decided that with her competitive spirit that they would learn how to play golf and bridge and take to the ski slopes of Quoggy Joe, taking advantage of the area’s immense snow. These activities rewarded the family with many wonderful friends wherever they lived along with great laughs and happy memories. Mary’s love of golf and skiing has carried on to her family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Known as Mimi to her family, with her brilliant blue eyes, beautiful smile and loving kindness that captured Walter’s heart so many years ago, Mimi will be dearly missed by her family, but they are comforted knowing that Mimi has been reunited with her love, Walter.
Mary’s family would like to thank the entire staff of The Commons in Lincoln for their profound loving care and support of Mary these past 8 years along with her caregivers from Care Dimensions in Mary’s last weeks with her family.
A Funeral Mass will celebrate Mary’s life on August 14, 2023 at Our Lady of Fatima of Ascension Parish in Sudbury, MA at 11:00 AM with an inurnment at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland, ME at a future date.
