Born May 1, 1959 in Tuskegee, Alabama, she was the daughter of Arthur and Odelle Kathleen (Brown) Peters. Lisa was raised and educated in Sudbury and graduated from Harvard University in Cambridge where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in English and American Literature and Language in 1981. She had worked most recently as a software systems analyst for Merkle in Marlborough and previously for WebMD/HealthShare Technology in Acton.
Lisa loved music, theater, and literature. She was an avid reader and an accomplished violinist and pianist. In her youth she was a member as a violinist of the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra. For many years she was a season ticket holder for the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Huntington Theatre. Lisa loved cooking and sharing the culinary experiences and traditions of her New Orleans family, and she had a keen interest in researching her family's history. Lisa loved travel including many trips to New Orleans and trips to France, England, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain and vacationed for many years with family and friends in the Outer Banks, NC. Lisa was raised as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and her Christian faith was a focus of her life.
Beloved wife of Bruce Thomas Driver of Sudbury for over 35 years; devoted mother of Eric Justin Driver of Sudbury, Benjamin Colin Driver of Pittsburgh, PA; loving sister of Chester Arthur Peters and his wife Pei (Ho) of Poughkeepsie, NY, Christopher Peters of Leominster, Stuart Andre Peters and his wife Deborah (Harvey) of Sudbury, Jean-Paul Peters of Leominster; also survived by a niece and nephew, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be held Friday, October 28, 2016 from 4-7:30PM at the Duckett-J. S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road (Route 20), Sudbury. A funeral service will follow at 7:30PM.
Interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sudbury will be private.
