John Williams

He was born on May 4, 1933 to the late John Burr Williams and Edith (McCoy) Williams. He grew up in Wellesley Hills. He was a member of the class of 1951 at Rivers Country Day School and graduated from Harvard University in 1955 with a degree in mathematics. After college, he worked at MIT Lincoln Laboratories. In 1962, he started a 50-year career as an investment manager. He was a member of the Weston Golf Club and the Wianno Club.

He is survived by his son, John Borden Williams, and his wife, Jennifer Morgan Williams, of Osterville, MA, and his daughter, Caroline Borden Williams, and her husband, Michael J. Seery, of New York City. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Emily Williams, Sarah Williams, Abigail Williams, John (Jack) Williams, Jr., and Katherine (Kate) Seery. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Mary Borden Williams, in 2013 and his sister, Nancy F. de Roode, in 2010.

Funeral services will be held at St. Peter’s Church, 320 Boston Post Road, Weston, MA at 1 PM on Friday, February 20, 2015. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rivers School, 333 Winter Street, Weston, MA 02493.
