Joan F. (Danahy) Cannalonga died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 5, 2022, she was 89. Joan was the beloved wife of the late V. James Cannalonga for 62 years. Born in Everett, she was the daughter of the late Dennis Danahy and Louise (Meuse), and sister to James (deceased) and his wife Dee of Moultonborough, New Hampshire.
Joan met Jim while they both worked at Raytheon. They later worked together at Abbott Spray and Farm Equipment Co., where she was the bookkeeper until its closing in 1983. She continued to work as a bookkeeper and office manager at the American Casket Company and Waltham Automotive.
The couple were members of St. Anselm Church in Sudbury since its opening in 1962.
Joan was the devoted mother of Nancy Cooper and her partner Jeff Brock of Tucson, Arizona; Susan Bartish (deceased) and her husband John Bartish of Tucson, Arizona; Beth Crowley and her husband Robert Crowley, Jr., of Norwood; and Elaine Najemy of Shrewsbury. Also the cherished grandmother of Jonathan Cooper and his wife Stacy (Celaya) of Tucson, Arizona; Andrea Crowley of Boston; Allison Crowley of Somerville; Stephen Najemy of Lyman, Maine; Michael Najemy of Salt Lake City, Utah; and the loving great-grandmother of Shenandoah Cooper of Tucson, Arizona.
Joan’s relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, January 12 at the Duckett - J.S. Waterman and Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road (Rt. 20) SUDBURY from 2:00-6:00 PM. Joan’s funeral will be held on Thursday, January 13, at 9:00am from the Duckett - J.S. Waterman and Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anselm Church, 100 Landham Road, Sudbury at 10:00am. Interment will follow the Mass in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Sudbury.
