Elinore L. (Currie) Berry, 77, of Sudbury. It with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Elinore (Currie) Berry of Sudbury, MA. Elly fought a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s and lived with her fiery and loving spirit in tact longer than most. While we are saddened this disease took her sooner than was fair, we smile at the time we had and the memories we shared.
Born in West Roxbury on February 11, 1941, Elly was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Hennessey) Currie. After graduating from St. Joseph’s Academy, Elly worked for John Hancock in Boston for 10 years. A 40-year resident of Sudbury, Elly was a talented artist, crafter, and cook who enjoyed nothing more than sharing her creations with family and friends. She volunteered many hours to her children’s schools, was a driver for the FISH program, and was a dedicated volunteer and trustee of the Sudbury Historical Society for many years.
Elly leaves behind her beloved husband of 55 years David G. Berry of Sudbury, her children Elizabeth O’Connor and her husband Jim of Sudbury, David Berry Jr., and his wife Tracy. She also leaves behind a piece of her heart in her grandchildren; Samantha, Jimmy, and Caelyn, as well as her devoted sister Ann Walter, many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and lifelong friends. She will be missed, but never forgotten.
Visiting hours will be held at Duckett Funeral Home, 656 Boston Post Rd, Sudbury on Thursday, January 3rd from 4-8 PM. A funeral mass will be held at 10AM in Our Lady of Fatima Parish on Friday, January 4, 2018 followed by a committal service in Wadsworth Cemetery, Sudbury.
