It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carol (Mitchell) Galloway Oram, a loving mother and grandmother, who peacefully left us on March 16, 2025, at the age of 92. She was surrounded by loved ones during her final moments.
Born on March 15, 1933 in Rochester, NY, Carol was a remarkable woman, raised by her dear father, she was a natural storyteller, and was loved by all who knew her. Carol was blessed with two great husbands during her life, first married to Gerry Galloway who passed away much too early and then for many years to Derek Oram.
Carol enjoyed a long career in social services where she excelled with her outgoing, intuitive nature and natural leadership abilities; she ascended to Executive Director of West Suburban Elder Services for 6 years before retiring.
She found retirement rewarding; she enjoyed traveling, spending time at the vacation cabin in Ellsworth, NH that she shared with Derek, and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. She was always gathering the extended family together and fostering connections between everyone.
Carol is survived by her daughter Donna Galloway and son Stephen Galloway and his wife Debra Galloway, and grandchildren Nathan and Jeremy Galloway, as well as Derek’s children and spouses: Clive Oram, Katherine Bini and her husband Stefano Bini, and John Oram and his wife Sage Oram, as well as grandchildren Michaela and Gianluca Bini and Miles and Lukas Oram.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 at 11AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 1 Morse Rd. Sudbury, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mass Audubon in her memory.
