Roger Lee Gibson, 70, of Stuarts Draft passed away Friday morning, July 26, 2013 at his residence.
He was born March 21, 1943 in Augusta County, son of the late Grant Martin Gibson and Alma Etta Fisher Gibson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters. He was the last member of his immediate family.
Survivors include one daughter, Pam Sawyers and husband Billy of Stuarts Draft; one son, Ronald “Popeye” Gibson and wife Amy of Greenville; his very faithful companion of twenty years, Glenda Shifflett; four grandsons, one granddaughter, one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with Dennis Westover officiating.
