Peggy Joyce (Roadcap) Branch received her call to glory on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Augusta Health. She was born in Waynesboro on April 11, 1938, the youngest of four children, to the late James Harmon, Sr. and Hilda Gum Roadcap.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Robyn Delaine Branch; her brother, James Harmon Roadcap, Jr. and sister, Betty Lou Falls.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children and their spouses, Daryl and Donna Branch of Greenville, Michele and Steve Breckenridge of Staunton, Tracy and Lori Branch of Stuarts Draft, and Abbie and Ronnie Harrell of Waynesboro and two grandchildren she raised as her own, Jeremy Garrett and Jessica Tomblin. She is also survived by grandchildren Joshua Branch, Steven Branch, Stephanie Branch, Amber Fuller, Ashley Fish and Meghan Pannell; great grandchildren she adored and a number of nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her sister, Mildred Pannell, whom she dearly loved and a very special and faithful friend, Eunice Brown.
She was known by most who knew her as Granny. She loved her Lord and her family, whom she sacrificed greatly for. She was a faithful member of Stuarts Draft Christian Fellowship for 50 years. She loved to cook. Her heart was full of a desire to help others, and would give whatever she had to someone in need. She was a mother and friend to anyone she met, and would quickly tell you when you needed a coat and hat. She was always ready to offer a hand wherever one was needed.
She retired from Alcoa Corporation in Stuarts Draft.
The family will receive family and friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 1, 2018 Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes and at other times at the home of her son, Tracy.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a .m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Stuarts Draft Christian Fellowship, 216 Howardsville Turnpike, Stuarts Draft, with Pastor Brett Perrett and Pastor Noah Grant officiating. Burial will be private.

The family would like to thank the congregation of Stuarts Draft Christian Fellowship especially, Tom and Connie Almarode, Jerrel and Lorene Suter, Pastor Brett and Arlene Perrett, and Don and Wanda Cullen for their support of mom over the years and for the rides to and from church. They would also like to thank Dr. Dennis Hatter for his compassionate care for mom over the years, the staff at Hospice of the Shenandoah and the caring staff at Augusta Health for their kindness and attentive care.
