Born November 12, 1948 in Staunton, he was the son of the late John Franklin and Hazel (Conner) Strickler.
John was a faithful and active member of Raphine Christian Church, where he spread the message of our Lord Jesus Christ by his inspiring videos.
Prior to retirement, he was employed by NIBCO Stuarts Draft Division for 29 years.
He is survived by his two angels and shining stars: wife of 38 years, Cynthia (Switzer) Strickler and son, John Ezra Franklin Strickler.
In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg and Sue Daughtry and Curtis and Hope Ashby; as well as aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Augusta Memorial Park with Pastor John Ward officiating. Following the graveside service, a celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at Raphine Christian Church. There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
