Jimmy Franklin Moran, Sr.

Jimmy Franklin Moran, Sr., 74 of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at his residence. He was born July 12, 1947, a son of the late Herbert Maynard and Sadie Belle (Campbell) Moran. Jimmy retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation and was a member of Connection Baptist Church in Stuarts Draft. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin Wayne Moran. Survivors include his wife, Debra (Johnson) Moran; sons, Jimmy Moran, Jr., and fiancé Tonya Fulton of Stuarts Draft, Steven Moran and wife Danelle of Greenville; daughter, Lynn Michelle Sprouse of Clay, West Virginia; brothers, James Maynard Moran of Stuarts Draft, Herman Dale Moran and wife Chris of Stuarts Draft, Ronald Lee “John” Moran of Staunton; sisters, Elaine Moran of Stuarts Draft, Paula Bruce and husband Victor of Stuarts Draft; grandchildren, Aaron McDaniel, Corey Sprouse, Miranda Sprouse, Amber Lewis, Jimmy Moran lll, Skylar Moran, Harley Moran, Jordan Sheren, Jaxon Moran, Bayne Fulton, Zoey Moran and 9 great grandchildren. He also leaves a special friend Sandra Sink of Florida and his best friend Wray Brubeck of Staunton. A service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Wayne Pettway, Troy Hetrick, Chris Moore, Gary Burgess, Mike and Lance Diehl.
