Jerry Wade Campbell, 58, of Waynesboro, passed away at home Wednesday, February 8, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 22, 1953, in Charlottesville, son of the late Raymond Austin and Mabel Fitzgerald Campbell.
Jerry was a member of Faith Worship Center and retired on January 26, 2012, from Nibco, where he had worked for 35½years.
Jerry loved and cherished his wife of 35 years. His kids and grandkids meant more to him than anything else. Ever since he was 12, playing music and singing was the biggest love of his life which he took a step further by playing bass and vocals in the Doyles River Gospel Band. When he wasn't hunting or fishing, you could find him at auctions and yard sales. He always stayed busy collecting antiques or refinishing furniture. He also had a passion for gardening. Jerry's 2 cats, Blacky and Grady, were like his own children. No matter how you felt, he could always put a smile on your face. His sense of humor was like no other, and anyone that crossed paths with him found themselves blessed to know him. He was truly a dedicated and successful man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Liptrap.

"Prenny" Campbell; two sons, Rusty Harris of Waynesboro and Paul Harris and his wife, Chris, of Stuarts Draft; one daughter, Paula Brocato and her husband, John, of Staunton; six grandchildren, P.J., Chris, and Tara Harris, Travis, Whitney and John Brocato Jr.; great-grandchildren, Crew and Camden Harris, Kaitlyn, Heidi and Leah Brocato; one brother, Kenneth A.
