Born October 1, 1950 in Charlottesville he was the son of the late Jack R. Crummett, Sr. and Nancy (Farley) Crummett.
Jack was a conservative of the extreme right persuasion, worked as an equipment operator for Eavers Brothers Excavating prior to retirement, and loved his ponies, dogs and cats Tater and Gus. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Jack was also a member of the NRA, loved baseball and was a Babe Ruth Coach for many years. He also served as an advocate for starting a girls softball program in the local schools. Jack was a collector and keeper of all things antique, enjoyed attending auctions, and going fishing. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.
Survivors include his two children, Tara Welch of Lyndhurst and Cody Jack Crummett of Verona; grandchildren, Leah Campbell and husband, Cody, Taylor Wood and husband, Josh, Garrick Welch, Gracie Sheets, Cameron Cave, Addison Crummett, and Brycen Crummett; great-grandchildren, Amy Wood, Harper Campbell, Kase Campbell, and Sadie Wood; sister, Judy C. Duncan and husband, Grady of Millwood, Va; niece, Tabatha Duncan; and longtime friend and lawyer Uncle Alice, and Roger Sparks.
Following cremation, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2179 Stuarts Draft Highway, Stuarts Draft, with Pastor David Vaughan officiating. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
