Doris Lee Harris

Doris Lee (Martin) Harris, 86, of Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, December 20th, 2023 at Augusta Health in Fishersville. Doris was born in Craigsville, VA on September 24th, 1937 to Samuel H. Martin and Effie (Beverly) Martin. She was married to Roger S. Harris on April 2nd, 1955 in Staunton. She worked at Wayne Tech for 18 years and raised a successful family. In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her beloved husband Roger; her brothers, John Martin, Ralph Martin, Fred Martin, Houston “Wimpy” Martin, and Billy Wayne Martin; as well as sisters, Virginia Shifflett, Stella Martin, Lorraine Wilson, Shirley Lanum, and Bernice Stump. She is survived by her daughters, Angela H. Brannan with husband Shawn of Killeen, TX, and Amanda Harris of Greenville. Doris is also survived by her grandchildren, Sarah Bosserman, Adam Myers, and Aurora Harris; her great grandchildren, Alyssa Robinson, Nick Robinson, Artemis Harris, Joshua Mullen, April Bosserman and Violet Bosserman. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Diane Rice; her special niece, Amy Harris and her adopted family, Spencer Smith and Kat Hatch. Following cremation, a memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 9th at 11:00 AM at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Shawn Brannan officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 9th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
