Obituary of Charles Franklin Campbell, Sr.
Charles F. Campbell, Sr, beloved husband of Grace (Cook) Campbell for 44 years went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 9, 2023. He was born on July 17, 1939, a son of the late William Frank Campbell and Mae (Patterson) Campbell. He graduated from Wilson Memorial High School, class of 1957. He retired from E.I. Dupont Co. as a mechanic after 34 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Charles and Ruby Patterson. As well as his brother Jeffery Campbell. In addition to his wife of 44 years he is survived by a son Charles F. Campbell Jr. (Maggie). A daughter Glenna Spitzer (Michael). A stepson Shawn Kelly (Rachel). A brother Robert Campbell (Millie). Four Grandchildren, Josiah Kelly (Katie), Nathanael Kelly (Anahi), Bethany Kelly, and Victoria Kelly. Four great grandchildren, Judah Kelly, Isabella Kelly, Abigail Kelly, and Simon Kelly. Born in Stuarts Draft, VA. He was a lifelong resident. He grew up in his grandparent’s home, in the loving care of Charles and Ruby Patterson. At age 18 he built the house he lived in until his death. In addition to his job, he was a farmer and a good steward of the land where he lived. He had a God given innate ability to fix anything. He was a master mechanic, a gardener. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a man of few words, but what he did say was honest, and from the heart. He will be greatly missed. It was his wishes to be cremated. There will be no formal services, but a memorial service will be held later.
