He was born in Schenectady, NY to the late Amelia and William “Bill” Horstmann, Sr. He was preceded in death by his younger brother Carl, Sr.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Ardath (Vigars), his brother Richard, Jonesville NY, his sons Eric Stuart, Mark William (Sandy) Port St. Lucie, Grandson, Mark Ryan, Great Grand daughters Vanessa and Natalie Sosa, also sister-in-law Barbara Horstmann (Carl Sr) and several nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.
Bud was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from Morrisville University, retired from Pitney Bowes. Bud was a former fireman, Justice of the Peace, Tax Assessor/Tax Collector and Town Councilman in Clifton Park, New York.
Bud and wife and sons owned and operated the “Towering Pines” mobile home park on Kanner Highway. After selling the Park he moved to the “Tropical Paradise” community where he was the 1st president of the Home Owners Association, in addition he served as director on the South Fork Homeowners Utility Corp. board.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast, Palm City, Florida.
The family invites all who ever loved, admired and appreciated being with Bud to attend a “Celebration of Life” of this larger than life man. There will be an informal open house event at his home on March 3, 2018, at 2 PM.
