Timothy James Wilson, age 78, of Stuart, Florida passed away on September 8, 2020. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 29, 1942 and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Spanish, and a Masters Degree in Linguistics. He worked for Pratt & Whitney as a Draftsman and, before retiring, worked as a Technical Writer at Awareness Technology.
Tim was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, loved watching their games, and never went anywhere without his Steelers cap. He was an avid reader, an amazing chess player, and a history buff with a special love of the Civil War. His passion, however, was woodworking. He was a member of the Treasure Coast Woodturners and on most days he could be found in his garage making all sort of beautiful wood pieces, from pens to bowls to bookshelves, many of which he gave or sold to people in his community. Most of all, he loved God and God’s Word and spent his time serving Him. He was a member of Treasure Coast Presbyterian Church.
Tim is preceded in death by his brother John Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jean M. Wilson; his daughter Marie McGurk and her husband Patrick; his grandchildren Michael and Ethan; his sister Eunice Wilson of Natich, MA; his brother David Wilson of Turtle Creek, PA, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Treasure Coast Presbyterian Church on Saturday September 26, 2020 at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Institute for Creation Research (ICR.org) or Answers In Genesis (answersingenesis.org), two organizations that Tim was passionate in supporting.
