Rebecca (Becky) Porter passed away comfortably, with family members at her side, during the early evening hours of September 23, 2014. She lived to be 83. She was born in Lenola, NJ (Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ) on December 20, 1930 to parents John Evans Haines, Jr. (a farmer) and Rose Teresa Lynch (a homemaker and waitress) as their only child. Becky graduated from Moorestown High School and then worked various secretarial jobs until she met her husband. She married David William Porter of Maple Shade, NJ. They lived in Moorestown, NJ and in 1962 moved to a little town at the Jersey shore called Waretown. From 1965 to the 1990’s, together, they ran a very successful, custom home building business in Waretown and Forked River, NJ. Becky was a stay-at-home mom by choice and raised three fabulous children. Following the passing of her husband in the late 1990’s, Becky moved to Stuart, Florida. She is predeceased by her husband and will now join him to continue their gardening chores from up above. She is survived by her three children, Linda Fox (Sam), David Porter (Jan), and Joanne Porter, as well as her three, cherished grandchildren, Nicole Fox, Ashley Porter, and Kellie Fox. The Fox and Porter families wish to express their sincere gratitude to the devoted, caring medical team and caregivers at the Jupiter Medical Center ICU for their treatment provided to Becky and the family and to the staff at Mangrove Bay Assisted Living facility in Jupiter, FL for their conscientious care, comfort, and support provided to Becky during her time there. In lieu of flowers or food, the family suggests your memorial contribution go towards thanking the Mangrove Bay staff with a donation on behalf of Becky Porter sent to: Mangrove Bay Employee Holiday Fund, 110 Mangrove Bay Way, Jupiter, FL 33477. Friends may visit with the family between 7 and 9 PM on Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home at 703 Main St., Toms River, NJ. Becky will be laid to rest at the Good Luck Cemetery on Haines Street East in Lanoka Harbor, NJ at 11 AM on Saturday, October 4th.
