It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Leroy Voll, age 80, of Florida, who left us peacefully, surrounded by love, on March 19, 2025. Robert, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Born and raised in Florida, Robert spent his life creating a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to his family. He was a kind, wise, and incredibly funny man, always able to bring a smile to the faces of those around him. His love for his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, was unwavering. He cherished every moment spent with them, often finding joy in the simplest of activities—whether it was fishing, watching sports, Fox News or the Hallmark Channel, or sitting down with everyone at happy hour in Chokoloskee.
Robert was an avid craftsman and fisherman, a passion he passed down to many in his family, especially his son Sandy Voll and his grandsons. He loved the peace and joy that fishing brought, and it became a tradition that bonded him to his loved ones. Many cherished memories were made on the water, casting lines and sharing stories of the one that didn’t get away. Robert’s love for fishing was more than just a hobby, it was a way for him to connect with his family, and it will continue to be a treasured legacy that lives on through them.
Robert had a remarkable sense of creativity, which he expressed in many ways, especially in the love he shared with his wife. He spent years building and painting special pieces for her, from carefully crafted wooden projects to beautiful works of art. His creations were a reflection of his deep love and admiration for her, and they served as lasting symbols of the bond they shared. Even in his later years, he embraced technology, learning to use his iPad to create intricate paint-by-number canvases, continuing to express his creative spirit in new and meaningful ways.
In addition to his creativity, Robert had a fondness for the simple pleasures in life. He loved drinking coffee, often enjoying a cup while savoring his favorite cookies. He also had a true passion for dancing, and nothing brought him more joy than moving to the rhythm of a good song, often sharing his love for dance with his family during gatherings. Whether it was a lively tune or a slow melody, Robert would always be ready to dance, spreading happiness wherever he went.
He was a man who enjoyed the small pleasures of life, like sipping Bailey’s Irish Cream, and would often share with others his stories of his adventures and wisdom. His laughter and presence filled any room he entered, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Robert's heart never fully healed after the passing of his wife in April of 2022, the love of his life. Robert also lost his son to a tragic accident which left a huge hole in the family for many years. While he missed them dearly, we find comfort knowing that they are now reunited in heaven, where they will continue to share in each other’s love and joy.
Robert is survived by his son, Robert Voll, his grandchildren, Casey Voll, Matthew Voll, Kevin Manning and Anthony Benito. His brothers Donny and Pinky Voll, his great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his childhood friend, Johnny Tate, as well as many other friends. His legacy of kindness, humor, creativity, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider honoring Robert’s memory by spending time with your loved ones, sharing a laugh, dancing to your favorite songs, casting a line, or enjoying a quiet moment with a cup of coffee and a cookie in hand—just as he would have wanted.
Rest in peace, Robert. You will forever be in our hearts.
A graveside service for Robert will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Fernhill Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum, 1501 S Kanner Hwy, Stuart, FL 34994.
