Rita was the first of eight children, born to Grace (Wren) and Louis Bednar in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is survived by sisters Frances Hansen and Bernadette Carney, and brother Alan (Patricia), and many nieces and nephews. Rita is preceded in death by her sisters Mary Ann Callan, G. Liz Bednar, Janice Ott and brother Eugene.
Rita was an Administrative Assistant for Baxter Laboratories from 1968 – 1998. She had also worked for Harley Davidson for a time and had many stories to tell. After moving to Florida, she enjoyed volunteering at Martin South.
Rita was a lively member of Miles Grant Country Club, where the Sunday brunch and trivia evenings were the high points of her week and time with her friends, and she was also known as an avid golfer.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Masses to be said at St. Christopher’s, Hobe Sound, or donations made to the charity of your choice.
