Mary J. Logan passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 in Stuart, Florida. Mary was born on September 19, 1942 in Philadelphia to Michael and Carmella Genzano and was a long-time resident of Glen Ellyn, Illinois before moving to Stuart.
Mary leaves behind her high school sweetheart and husband of 53 years, Henry, and remains the beloved mother of Michele Nealis (Michael), Maureen Soroka (Valery), and Monica Peters (Matthew). She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren: Henry, Michael, Logan, Mia, William, and Alexander.
Her true passion was her family and deep unwavering love of her husband, but her home was always welcome to visitors, none of whom ever left with an empty stomach. As a hostess and a friend, Mary made every event special and had a warmth and unmatched ability to make people feel at home in her presence. During her time as School Secretary at Briar Glen Elementary School in Glen Ellyn, she earned a reputation as the resident Mother Superior always insisting on polite respectful behavior. Mary excelled at puzzles and problem-solving and was regarded as a formidable force at Trivia. Her wit, sharp sense of humor and ability to tell a good tale was outdone only by her ability to listen to others. She never missed a word nor would she hesitate to share her genuine opinion. Her ability to make the perfect hoagie will always remain unduplicated.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 12:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church located at 2100 Cove Rd Stuart, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Treasure Coast Hospice 1201 Indian St Stuart, FL 34997
