She was born in Glen Head, NY on November 9, 1936 to Frank (Dud) Hoffer and Peggy Doremus Hoffer. She lived in Port Washington, NY until 1954. She attended the University of Miami. There she met and married Les Martin.
She graduated from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, CA in 1978 with her BA degree and a California Teachers Credential. She was a director of the learning Center at Chandler School in Pasadena for four years. She moved to Jensen Beach in 1984. She was a teacher at St. Joseph Catholic School for 21 years retiring in 2005.
She did volunteer work at Martin Memorial Hospital and Intergroup of Martin County. Teaching, travel and reading were her passions. She was blessed with many wonderful friends and family.
She leaves behind her three sons, Robert Dudley Martin and his wife Linda of Stuart, FL, Page L. Martin and his wife, Patty of Glendora, CA, and Casey Hoffer Martin and his wife Liz of Vero Beach, FL. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Matthew Martin of Stuart, FL, step granddaughter, Jennifer Weaver and her children Kaylene and Logan, and great great granddaughter Milani, and step grandson Jason Weaver of San Clemente, CA.
A funeral service for Margaret will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1200 SE 10th St., Stuart, FL 34996. A memorial service will occur Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Aycock Funeral Home Young & Prill Chapel, 6801 SE Federal Highway, Stuart, FL 34997. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 6026 North Us Highway 1, Fort Pierce, FL 34946. She will be buried between her mother, father and grandparents.
