Major Raymond Roy Chappell Jr.

Raymond was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts on August 18th, 1931. He married the love of his life, Joann C. Chappell on October 15th, 1955. They were married 62 wonderful years.

Raymond served in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years. For his service in Vietnam he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Raymond received a Masters Degree in history from St. Michael’s college.

Raymond enjoyed life fully. He had a strong faith, and attended church daily. He loved sports, reading, politics and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed raw oysters, Frappaccinos and Kentucky Bourbon Manhattans!

Raymond is survived by his five children; Thomas, Catherine, Timothy (and wife Terri), Caren (and husband Jeff) and Crissa-Jean. Grandchildren are Dianna, Katie, Nicholas, Austin, Corin, Corie, Cassandra, Raymond Thomas and Christy-Ann. Great grandchildren are Aubree and Ashlynn.

He is also survived by siblings John E., Frances M., and Louis P.

A private service will be held at a later date in Massachusetts.
