Kristina W. Walters

A lifetime educator, Kristina Williams Walters (Kris), age 77, died February 22, 2024. She was lovingly married to Dr. Jerry C. Walters for 56 years. She was mother to Lorne Walters and daughter-in-law, Amanda Lanier of Augusta, Natalie Walters and daughter-in-law, Regina Roberts of Stuart, FL, and she had an adoring dog, named Keeper.

Kris grew up in Savannah, GA, but lived most of her adult life in Augusta, GA, then retired to Stuart, FL. She earned a BS and Masters’ Degree from GA Southern University and a Specialist Degree from Augusta College. While in Augusta, GA, she taught art at six secondary schools and was recognized as STAR Teacher and Teacher of the Year while at Butler High School. She served as Assistant Principal at Richmond Academy for ten years before retiring.

Her faith began at St John’s Episcopal Church in Savannah, Ga, where she later was married. Kris was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Augusta, GA, St Andrews Episcopal Church, in Ft Pierce FL and All Saints Episcopal Church in Jensen Beach, FL. She was involved in many ministries throughout her lifetime within these churches, such as starting the Mother’s Day Out Program, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Minister, Art Director, Vestry, Lay Eucharistic Ministry, Executive Board and she founded an LGBTQ fellowship. She will be remembered for her effervescent smile, art work, and love. Kris loved God, all people, animals, nature, music, dancing, and chocolate. She loved life.

In addition to her immediate family, she is predeceased by her parents, Thomas King and Jule Elizabeth Williams and step-father Columbus Payne Williams. She is survived by her siblings, Karen Davidson, Mark Williams, Claire Wise, and John Williams.

A service will be held March 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM, All Saints Episcopal Church, 2303 SE Seaview Dr, Jensen Beach, FL 34957. In lieu of flowers, you may send a memorial donation to All Saints Episcopal Church.
