Kenneth T McCarthy

Kenneth T. (“Kenny”) McCarthy, 83, passed away on October 1, 2012 in Stuart, Florida. Born in Montreal, Canada, Mr. McCarthy previously lived in Pittsfield, MA before relocating to the Stuart area in 2000. He was a resident of Cedar Pointe, a community he grew to love.

A graduate of McGill University, he spent most of his career as an executive in the retail food industry in California, New York and Massachusetts. He later owned and operated McCarthy's Package & Variety and McCarthy's South End Market, both in Pittsfield, MA.

He was an avid reader and golfer, and was a member of Wahconah Country Club in Dalton, MA for over 40 years. He donated a large collection of books to Cedar Point Village 8.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Charlotte; daughter, MaryAnn Battaini (and husband Angelo) of Haverhill MA; son, Jeff McCarthy (and wife Kelly) of Oakland, CA; and six grandchildren, Matt, Mike, Abbey, Max, Liam and Ben who he loved dearly.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
