Times slips away like a thin mist.  But my memories of John Ziegler remain clear and valued.  Five years past his death, I  remember my hours and days at his side during some of the most demanding times of his tenure as President and CEO of the National Hockey League.
His place in the history of hockey is secure, his contribution to the game as a sport and growing enterprise across international borders equally so.  Not everyone saw his humor. Too few knew him up close and personal.  I was blessed to do both. Bill Wilkerson, Port Hope, Ontario, Canada

I continue to remember and grieve John's passing this five years later. I worked closely with him during his NHL years, we became close friends and I miss him and always will. Bill Wilkerson

John was one of the kindest persons I have ever met.  May he always rest in peace.

John was one of the kindest, most considerate men that I have ever known. He is as a good friend, wonderful host and a genuine person. May he Rest In Peace.

His heart and mind were much larger than his body, but the fact that he was a competitive hockey player proved his toughness and tenacity. Our time together working on Martin Health’s Foundation was rewarding and productive. Our friendship outlasted our working relationship. John, thank you for what you taught me and what we shared. Kathy and I send our thoughts and prayers to Kay and their family. 



I had the great privilege of working for John as a consultant during his time as NHL President. But more importantly, for me, we became friends. His passing weighs heavily.
