John M. Gardner, age 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 6th, 2022, at his home in Okeechobee. Born in Frenchlick, Indiana. In 1964, John and his wife Betty decided to move to Florida with their son, Mark
John was drafted into the Army and served from 1944-1946
He then worked as a post office employee until a heart attack forced retirement.
John loved cars and you could always find him in his garage tinkering with something or another. He later took up the hobby of building remote control boats and model cars later in life.
He was a simple man, but strong and fierce in his love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lea Gardner in 1983
He is survived by: Son, Mark Gardner and Tonya Slone, Grandsons: Mark and Corinne Gardner, David Gardner, Granddaughter, Suzanne Gardner, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
At the family’s request there will be no service, but thoughts and prayers are appreciated
