James Albert Tucker was born in Walton, Florida, in St. Lucie County, on April 5, 1928, the son of Charles Albert and Lida Cormany Tucker, the grandson of James Albert Tucker, and Grandfather Cormany, truck farmers from Coesse, Indiana. His parents came to St. Lucie county in 1924, via train, with eldest child, Robert. They moved to Martin County soon afterward, where he attended schools, and graduated as Valedictorian & Class President of his senior class, and All Conference Football player at the Stuart High School.
He had 13 brothers and sisters: Robert, deceased, John William (JW) deceased, Herbert, twins Kemp, deceased & Kermit, deceased, Max Lynn (Skeezix) deceased, Raymond, Richard, Charlotte, Virginia, deceased, Josephine, Marjorie, Marion. He married Ramona (Boots) Arnold, of Stuart, Florida, and had 4 children: James Albert, Jr., Palmetto, Florida; Charles Arnold, deceased; Mary Kathleen, Palm City, Florida; Dixie Lee Tucker Church, Hobe Sound, FL.
