Jim is lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Beverly; children, Jim (and Jodi) and John; and grandchildren, Jimmy (and Megan), Nicole, and Wyatt; sister, Merilyn Pastor; sister-in-law, Audrey Hoban; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his father, James, his mother, Pauline; and his sister, Carole Taylor.
Jim was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 13th, 1934 and served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959, serving overseas in Germany, where he was regularly confused for Elvis Presley, who was stationed just one camp away. He enjoyed the best of times with family and friends in their little trailer on the beach in Vermillion, Ohio. After moving to Florida in 1982, Jim and Beverly enjoyed a snow-free, full life surrounded by loving family.
Jim’s tenacity was only matched by his generous spirit. There was nothing he couldn’t fix and nothing he wouldn’t fix for others. Jim’s grandchildren fondly remember afternoons fishing, sand-covered beach days, and joyfully watching (and critiquing) little league baseball. His expressions of affection, like playful nicknames and freshly baked goodies, left a lasting imprint on our hearts.
A service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 1st, 2024, at Pinelake Gardens Clubhouse #1, 6854 SE Morningside Dr, Stuart, FL 34997.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in James Taylor's name to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
