He was preceded in death by his daughter Laura Gail McDougall. He is survived by his son Ross McDougall and wife Jeannie, their children Jeffery, his wife Kristin and their daughter Lenore (Jim’s first great grandchild) of Franklin, North Carolina, and Jenna (McDougall) her husband Dane Copple of San Antonio, Texas. He is also survived by his daughter Diana McDougall of Stuart, Florida. He also leaves behind his ex-wife and still good friend, Frances Irene McDougall of Sunlakes, Arizona, a sister, Mae Lineham in Innisfail, Alberta, Canada. He is also survived by his longtime friend, Anne. He had a loving extended family in Tampa, Florida, Jay and Suzanne Gabler, their three children, Griffin, Katherine and Lindsey, John and Lisa Gabler, their two children, Cole and Alexis.
Jim was born in Granum, Alberta, Canada. In 1963 he moved his family to Freeport, Grand Bahama for 10 years and then to Stuart. He became an American citizen in 1983. He loved life, worked hard in construction and loved to play cards. He played the piano for many occasions and was even in a band many years ago. Griffin named him PePaw when he learned to talk. That is what all the children and those special grandchildren called him. He spent many years living and working in Tampa and leaves many friends there as well. He never met a person he didn’t like. He will be missed by both family and friends. The family will celebrate his life in private.
