Jim was born on March 27, 1951 in Miami, Florida and graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in 1969. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and attended FAU to complete his degree in Education.
Jim worked as an assistant manager for K-Mart and at Builder’s Square for 20 years. He also worked at Home Depot for over 28 years.
Jim loved music, cars, and sports cheering on the Gators, Dolphins and Marlins. He also loved Star Trek, researching things for his family, kayaking and taking pictures, but his true love was his family. Jim truly lived for his loved ones and found joy in whatever brought his wife, children and best friends’ joy. That was just Jim.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Isabel Arrojas Harmon whom he married in 1974 at St. Timothy Church in Miami; his children, Theresa Harmon, Anthony Harmon (Jennifer), and Emilia Anderson (Shane); his grandchildren, Toby Anderson, Isabel Anderson, and Dakota Harmon; his mother, Paula Harmon George; and several nieces and nephews, along with many adoring brother and sister in laws.
Jim was predeceased by his father, James R. Harmon in 1991.
A funeral mass will be held on October 9, 2021 at 11:00AM at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 12001 SE Federal Highway, Hobe Sound, Florida.
