Harold J. Steadman, (JR) age 87 of Palm City, beloved husband, father and grandfather died at his home on Sunday, December 9. He was born December 10, 1930, in Albany, New York, to Harold J. and Gladys (Borst) Steadman. After graduating from Middleburgh High School, Harold attended Union College, Albany, New York, where he majored in pharmacy. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Arlene (Taylor) on July 18, 1954 and shared 60 plus years together. JR was employed by Sears where he held executive management positions. Upon retirement from Sears he joined Prudential, where he was a Registered Representative and Advisor serving clients in Stuart and the Palm Beaches. JR was active in the Chamber of Commerce, NAIFA, GAMA, Boy Scouts and numerous other professional and service organizations. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf, fishing, boating and attending the many activities his children and grandchildren participated in. He always promoted the “servitude” attitude in everything he did during his life. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Arlene, his three sons Michael, of San Antonio, Texas, Hal, of Hutchinson lsland, and Harry, of Delray Beach, along with his grandchildren, sister Carolyn and brother-in-law, Frank McMahon, sister-in-law, Gail Taylor and numerous nephews and nieces.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Sunday, December 23, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:00pm, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00pm at Aycock Funeral Home 505 South Federal Highway Stuart, FL.
