Their wedding was a grand celebration for the family and he welcomed his mother in law to be a part of their lives. Lupe and Alicia were blessed with 4 children and shared 20 years together. Family was important to Lupe and he would help his family for most of his life.

The tournaments became a huge success and continued on for 19 years, open to all railroaders including RJCorman Companies. The tournament grew 144 golfers and would be one of the events of the summer, never once having a rain out.
