Mr. Donald L Bass Sr.

Donald L. Bass, Sr. of Hobe Sound, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 4, 2015. He was born in Bellaire, Ohio February 13, 1937, a son of Clyde Everett Bass and Helen Anderson Bass McVay. Donald grew up in Shadyside, Ohio, and graduated from Shadyside High School in 1954. He received his Bachelor of Science degree with a triple major in Sales, Marketing and Personnel Management from West Liberty State College in 1959, and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Economics from Case Western Reserve University in 1971. Donald was President of DB Financial Services, Inc., the company he founded in 1981. Donald’s passion other than his work was playing golf. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Clyde Eugene Bass, his first wife Marie Starbuck Bass, his second wife Josephine Simone Bass, and infant daughter Denise Lynn Bass. Donald is survived by his daughter Deborah and husband Michael, his son Donald Bass, Jr. and wife Donna, his son Douglas and wife Lisa, grandsons Philip Collins and Kyle Bass, granddaughters Laurie and Karen Kie, five great grandchildren, his sister Laverne and husband George Miller, his sister-in-law Doris Bass, and three nephews. Visitation will be Friday, February 13th, from 5 pm until 7 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life service at Aycock Funeral Home, Young & Prill Chapel, 6801 SE Federal Highway in Stuart.
