Carlton Williams Jr passed away on January 13, 2022 at the age of 98. Preceded in death by his wife, Jane Ellen Williams and son, Carlton Williams III. Survived by his daughter Deborah A. Swanton (Paul). Step-daughters Nancy Rusk VonHolle (Dave), Judith Rusk Etheridge and Laurie Rusk Sewell. Grandchildren Michelle Bourcy Adams (Brad) and Adam Bourcy (Tara). Step-grandchildren Brian Etheridge(Allyson), BrookeLewis (Matt) and Jackson Sewell.
Carl was born and raised in New Jersey. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a navigator, flying over 50 missions in Europe, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with Oak Clusters. After the war, he returned to New Jersey where he launched several successful businesses. He retired in the mid-60s. Summers were spent at a summer home in Cape Vincent, NY on the St. Lawrence River. That is where his fishing career began. He became a charter fishing captain, famous for small mouth bass.
He moved to Stuart Florida in 1968 and continued his fishing career with the Whiticar fleet as a commercial charter captain. He continued as a private charter captain on the Lady M and Aunt Belle.He was a legendary sportfishing captain out of the St Lucie Inlet. His love of fishing took him to lakes,rivers and streams around the world. He and Jane Ellen were avid tennis players at Mariner Sands in Stuart. Their summers were spent at their log cabin in Maine, where they offered free tennis lessons to children at public courts. He loved playing the piano and attending the opera with friends. He lived an incredible life.
